Labels:text | screenshot | gold | money | coin | currency OCR: Coin History [ 1914-18] It had always been the intention to issue decimal gold coins and after some delay $5 and $10 gold coins were issued for three years from 1912 to 1914 with the image of King George V on the obverse and the Canadian coat of arms, as estab- lished by royal warrant in 1868 (that is, the arms of the four original provinces quarterly), superim- posed upon two boughs of maple on the reverse. Production was halted in 1914 when the Canadian Obverse and reverse of $10 government adopted wartime regulations to restrict gold coin of Canada 1912-14. The monarch is King George V the flow of gold. and the arms of Canada on the reverse are those established by royal warrant in 1868.
